Endurance, through my lens.
This summer, I had the chance to experience the legendary 24 Hours of Le Mans. Photographing an endurance race at night is a challenge of its own. Low light pushes both the limits of the camera and the photographer’s patience. Every shot demands precision, and every burst of headlights feels like a fight against darkness.
Together with my friend Jean, we pushed ourselves almost as much as the drivers. Across the full 24 hours, we managed barely two hours of sleep. The rest of the time, we were running from corner to corner, chasing the action, chasing the light.
What makes Le Mans unique isn’t just the racing, but also the journey to capture it. In the middle of the night, we waited for the shuttle that takes you deep into the circuit — to Arnage and Mulsanne, two mythical corners where the magic truly happens. The wait felt endless in the cold night air, fatigue creeping in, but once we arrived it was worth every minute. Standing by the trackside, watching glowing brake discs light up the darkness as cars braked from over 300 km/h, is an experience I’ll never forget.
